Cities

We serve in

One city open today, six in preparation. We open a city only when we have a desk, a manager we pay, and enough houses that a family arriving at six in the morning is never turned away.

Varanasi — ghat steps at dawn, wet stone, boats beyond

काशी/Varanasi

Varanasi sits on the west bank of the Ganga where the river turns north, and the bank is built up into a near-continuous run of stone steps — the ghats — for about six and a half kilometres. Almost everything a pilgrim comes for happens on that strip or in the lanes immediately behind it. The lanes are narrow, largely closed to cars, and easiest to walk early.

Ayodhya — Sarayu bank at dusk, lamps on the water

In preparation

अयोध्या/Ayodhya

Ayodhya stands on the right bank of the Sarayu, about 130 kilometres east of Lucknow. It is a smaller and flatter town than Varanasi, and a far newer destination for large-scale pilgrimage: the Ram Mandir opened in January 2024 and the town has been rebuilding around it since.
